In an opportunity that I could not pass by, I have become a Cougar once again - WSU Cougar that is. I've been a BYU Cougar in blue, a red Utah Ute, and finally graduated a purple Weber State (WSU) Wildcat. Seems like a convergence of some kind in a plethora of school colors. My new job is Web Communications Manager at the WSU Vancouver campus, and I start on April 6. I turned in my resignation at the Psoriasis Foundation with relief today. I don't think I had recognized fully how much my job there was impacting my life in a negative way until I went to Hawaii and stepped out of the mess for a minute. Sometimes vacations give you a burst of renewed energy to go forward - sometimes they just give you a clear perspective of what's behind you. I got the dose of perspective, and it wasn't pretty.
I enter the world of academia with anticipation and excitement for this new path, a path coincidentally only 4.6 miles and 12 minutes from my house, according to Google maps. No bridge over the Columbia. No Oregon income taxes. No two-hour commute.
I think I'm going to like being a Cougar again....
